Double Murder Suspect Has Day in Court after Seven Years on the Run

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A double murder suspect who evaded authorities for seven years has pleaded not guilty.

Thirty-two-year-old Perry Pickering, who was deported from Florida in September 2024, is charged with the September 15, 2017 murders of 23-year-old Dennis Moss and eight-year-old Eugene Woodside Jr.

Moss was shot and killed by a gunman during a foot chase, while Eugene was killed when a stray bullet went through his family’s wooden home as he did his homework.

Pickering will appear before Justice Dale Fitzpatrick on February 17 for a fixture hearing.
