NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The man accused of raping a 73-year-old woman after he broke into her home is an ex-con who recently completed a 30-year sentence for similar crimes.

Prosecutors say Ricardo Bannister raped a 73-year-old woman during a burglary at her New Providence home on January 30.

Bannister didn’t have to plead to the rape and burglary charges when he stood before Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

Bail was denied and Bannister returns to court on May 19 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.
