DOMINICAN REPUBLIC – Authorities say at least 27 people are dead and more than 150 injured after the roof collapsed at a packed nightclub in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The incident happened early Tuesday during a performance by popular Merengue singer Rubby Pérez at Jet Set Nightclub.

Rescue teams of about 400 strong are still searching for survivors under the rubble.

It’s unclear what caused the collapse, but video from inside shows concertgoers enjoying the show seconds before disaster struck.

President Luis Abinader has offered condolences as families wait anxiously for updates.
