NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The 2nd Caribbean Youth Forum on Drug Use Prevention is underway. The forum has attracted youth leaders from 13 Caribbean countries to talk about drug use prevention in the region.

Bahamas National Drug Council Director Dr. Novia Carter-Lookie describes some of the ongoing initiatives here in The Bahamas.

When it comes to prescription drug abuse, most teens say they got those drugs from friends and family either by sharing, buying, or even stealing from their parent’s medicine cabinet.

Dr. Carter-Lookie says they’re looking to address that issue in campaigns as well.
