NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The European Union economist told “you are out of place” for blacklisting countries on the contentious issues of anti-money laundering and counter-financing of terrorism.

The public rebuke came from Marla Dukharan a Trinidadian economist in Barbados.

Her comments came from a request by the European Commission, for feedback on the thorny
issue of tax evasion.

Dukharan also told the E.U. they were out of place by assigning themselves authority they did not have.

Her submission also questioned the right of the E.U. to tell another sovereign country what level of taxes it should apply while countries like Ireland and Hungary are free to do as they like.
Prime Minister Brave Davis also spoke about this issue recently at the UN General Assembly.
