Ecuador Police Arrest Gang Members Who Stormed Hospital

ECUADOR – Ecuadorian security forces say they have arrested 68 gang members for storming a hospital, aiming to protect a hospitalized gang member.

This latest news follows a trend of gangs targeting rivals in hospitals. Authorities say the patient, who arrived with gunshot wounds on Sunday, succumbed to injuries.

Security forces also raided a nearby rehab center, revealing its use as a command center and brothel.

Amid a state of emergency, President Daniel Noboa addresses surging gang violence, with over 2,700 arrests since January 9th.
