NASSAU, BAHAMAS – With students returning to the classroom following easter break, national examinations are around the corner.

But are educational officials concerned? It has been well documented that national passing results over the C letter grade have not been favorable in recent years.

Education Minister Glenys Hanna-Martin says her ministry is undertaking research to find the cause and solution for the age-old issue.

education officials noticing certain subjects are most troublesome for students particularly math and science…

Last year’s BGCSE results showed a 14.06% decrease in passes over C and higher in 5 or more subjects than the previous year with a slight increase of 4.11% int the BJC examination.

Hanna-Martin says while they are optimistic about this year’s results, the same methods used to fix the problem won’t cut it.
