NASSAU, BAHAMAS – How many of you remember rushing home after school in the early two thousands to watch BET’s star studded weekday line up?

We watched him, and countless entertainers, discuss their journey in the industry. The show concluded with a rap freestyle in the covenant booth located in what he called “His Mama’s Basement”.

The Hip Hop genre, which emerged from the Bronx in New York, is often the center of debate as an art form exclusive to African Americans. However, it was shows like this that ignited a passion for ambitious artists here at home aspiring to be as lyrically savvy as those we saw on rap city.

Recently, we got the chance to speak to the Emmy award winning host, Big Tigger, at Atlanta’s One Music Festival.

The icon says he’s aware of the impact he’s had on millennials in The Bahamas and that helps foster his love for the islands.
