ESPN To Host Ultimate Draft Weekend at Baha Mar

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The ESPN Fantasy Football Ultimate Draft Weekend is set to return to The Bahamas. 

From August 21-24, fans and fantasy leagues will take over Baha Mar for four days of football, fun, and most importantly draft day drama.

The event features VIP access to ESPN analysts, along with strategy sessions, beach combine activities, and live draft celebrations. 

Participants compete in games to determine draft order, then head to the grand ballroom for the main event – the ultimate fantasy draft.

For ESPN they provide an island escape and fantasy football experience, and for BD Global they add to their sports tourism footprint in The Bahamas which already includes Korn Ferry Tour Golf Events and Baha Mar Hoops.

Tennis

Team Bahamas is off to a winning start at the 2025 billie jean king cup americas zone iii tournament in Santa Tecla, el Salvador.

The quartet of Sydney Clarke, Simone Pratt, Jalisa Clarke and Saphirre Ferguson, led by team captain Kim o’Kelley, opened competition with a 2-1 win over Trinidad and Tobago.

Simone Pratt started the tie in dominant fashion, breezing past Charlotte Ready 6-0,6-0.

National champion Sydney Clarke followed with a straight-set victory 6-4,6-3 to clinch the win.

In doubles, Clarke and Pratt teamed up for a hard-fought match that ended in a four-six, six-seven loss.

They will also face Suriname and Jamaica in the group stage.

Karting

Bahamian racing prodigy Lenox Lockhart has made history on the karting circuit. 

The ten-year-old driver was crowned united states pro kart series micro swift champion at the 2025 Indiana Grand Prix.

Lockhart secured the title with a total of 2007 points, outdistancing Slate Harrell with one 1984.

At New Castle Motorsports Park, Lockhart finished fifth in the micro swift final to clinch the title.

Just a month earlier, Lockhart vaulted to the top of the standings after a first-place finish at the Wisconsin Grand Prix in Elkhart Lake.

He became the first Bahamian driver ever to win a major national karting title in the united states and it also marked his first USPKS Championship.
