NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The 33-year-old man accused of shooting a man in the head outside of a bar is an ex-con who was recently released from prison.

Philip Martin, a barber, is accused of the January 24 murder of Gibson Desir.

The 39-year-old was outside of Gordo’s Liquor Store on Cowpen Road when he was shot dead.

Martin didn’t have to enter a plea to the charge when he appeared before Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley.

Bail was denied and he’s back in court on April 24 to receive voluntary bill of indictment papers.

Martin was freed from prison after completing a four-year sentence for a 2021 robbery.
