UNITED STATES – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration says it has upgraded the recall of ready-to-eat marketside broccoli florets to its highest risk level That’s a class I recall.

The FDA reports the product, made by Braga Fresh Foods and sold at Walmart in 20 states was first pulled on December 27, 2024, after a Texas store sample tested positive for listeria.

With a “best if used by” date of December 10, 2024, consumers are urged to discard any bags they have.

Listeria can cause severe illness or even death, especially among vulnerable groups.
