NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The re-developed Nassau Cruise Port has been operating in their new multi-million-dollar space since May of this year, a move that has already proved to be a major draw for tourists and locals alike as well as the local small business owners in the marketplace.

Director of Bahamian Development, Ed Fields says the goal is to set this port apart by ensuring everything is as authentically Bahamian as possible but he admits, it was a bit of a challenge.

Field says business owners from the previous Festival Place location were given first preference within the port and over the past two years, they have all undergone training and development to be successful business owners.

The marketplace business owners were also granted a rent-free year within the port, in addition to other assistance from the port.

Fields says he believes the Nassau Cruise Port sets itself apart from other ports in the region as The Bahamas has its culture and authenticity at the forefront.
