NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The founder of a financial academy is making the case for financial literacy to be in schools across the country. The organization, which was established in 2019, offers financial education for children, teens and young adults.

The goal? For Bahamians to have healthy finances.

Lakeisha Rolle says it is her organization’s mission to teach young people practical ways to create a more secure financial future.

She says from as early as age seven, it is important for children to know how to manage their money.

She believes that financial literacy should be a part of school curriculums, but parents should also play a pivotal role in their child’s financial future.

The organization is preparing to host a conference at the University of The Bahamas in April. Four hundred students from New Providence and Grand Bahama are slated to attend.
