NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Amid the ongoing debate over marital rape, former Attorney General Allyson Maynard-Gibson is responding to critics who say the church is having too much say on the matter.

The issue of marital rape has been a hot-button topic for quite some time.

Prime Minister Philip Davis has said rape is rape.

Recently, Social Services State Minister Lisa Rahming said it’s not if but when marital rape laws will pass.

On Friday, Gibson stressed the need for legislation to tackle the issue.
