NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A magistrate has acquitted a former police constable of firearm and ammunition possession.

Dreyon Henfield, the son of Free National Movement Senator Darren Henfield, was fired from the Royal Bahamas Police Force following his arrest on March 12, 2024.

Prosecutors alleged that Henfield was found with a Glock .45 Springfield pistol along with 14 rounds of ammunition while at the Tight Pocket Bar in southwestern New Providence.

Gun Court Magistrate Lennox Coleby Sr dismissed the case after finding the prosecution had not proved their case.
