GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Months after a fire destroyed Will’s Barbershop, at the International Bazaar, owner Willard Roberts decided giving up was not an option.

He built a shack which was first a carwash after the fire, but then turned it into a barbershop with a new name, Brother’s Keeper Barbershop.

Roberts uses his shop to help other young men who have fallen on hard times. He says the space is also a source of shelter for some young men who have no other options, Geovantiee Oliver is one of them.

Oliver says the help he got from Roberts has allowed him to help others.

Roberts commended Grand Bahama Minister Ginger Moxey, who he says provided employment for some of the young men he assists.

To other Grand Bahamian business owners who may find themselves in a similar situation, Roberts says it is important they not give up.
