GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – As government moves to ease the financial burden on Bahamian families, Prime Minister Philip Davis recently announced a VAT reduction on food items from 10 percent to 5 percent.

The decision has been met with widespread praise, including from members of the business community in Grand Bahama as they view it as a timely intervention as the cost of food continues to rise daily.

Assistant Governor of Rotary International, Othneil Pinder and Grand Bahama Businessman Darren Cooper say the move brings much needed relief.
