GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Nearly 20 wedding planners from across the United States, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago embarked on a fact-finding mission to Grand Bahama recently.

This initiative, spearheaded by the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism, is viewed as a significant boost for the local economy.

This as the visit could open new avenues for romance tourism on Grand Bahama, showcasing the island as a premier destination for couples looking to tie the knot.

A special welcome reception was held at the Grand Lucayan Resort where planners had the opportunity to experience the island’s culture, sample local cuisine and network with other local professionals in the romance tourism industry.

General Manager of Romance at the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism Vinincia Strachan told the wedding planners they believe the island offers endless inspiration for their craft.

Senior Conventions and Service Manager at the Grand Lucayan Resort Lisa Karageoriou celebrated the wedding planners visit.

Jillian Williams of the Grand Bahama Island Promotion Board says the response has been great.
