NASSAU, BAHAMAS – After a 10-year hiatus, Goombay Summer Festival is back on Bay! And did you know, the summer festival began back in 1971 as a way to give visitors a taste of Bahamian heritage and culture year-round?

During the festivities, you can enjoy performances and much more. Director General of Tourism Latia Duncombe says with some 25 vendors slated to participate, families can expect something new every week.

And if you somehow forgot all of the excitement goombay has to offer, Duncombe gave this reminder….

Goombay will be taking place across 11 islands this summer and Duncombe says it’s a great opportunity to take part in domestic tourism.

This Thursday will be the final night for goombay in Grand Bahama.

Duncombe says she is pleased to report that the island saw record breaking numbers.
