NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s an annual festival that families look forward an open air event celebrating our culture. We’re talking about the famous Goombay Festival.

Vendors lined the streets offering us bags, tumblers, succulent Bahamian dishes and freshly made beverages.

We also met a group of international journalists and influencers who say while the festival wasn’t on their bingo card for this trip, they suddenly craved to know more about our culture, thanks to the festival.

Other than our jittery host, other entertainers included a firey limbo dancer, a dynamic dance group, the Pond Band and as the night continued Geno D, Funky D and Veronica Bishop.

The festival is scheduled to take place every Friday until August 17th on Bay Street.
