GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Grand Bahama welcomed a special visitor on Thursday as Governor General Cynthia “Mother” Pratt arrived on the northern island.

It was a warm welcome for the governor-general as she visited some of Grand Bahama’s precious pearls at the Burrows Home for The Aged along with Minister for Grand Bahama Ginger Moxey.

Owner of the home, Irene Burrows explained the condition of some of the residents.

She also expressed concerns about the homes’ high electricity bills as she has said in past interviews, the reason for the high energy consumption is the need to wash multiple loads of laundry per day for the residents.

This resident, in total awe as he was able to meet the governor-general.
