NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Davis administration is set to launch public consultations on proposed medicinal marijuana legislation.

Proposed legislation was made public on Thursday. Bills include the Cannabis Bill, a bill to amend the Dangerous Drugs Act and a bill to amend the Pharmacy Act.

Health and Wellness Minister, Dr. Michael Darville noting the compendium bills comprises of an amendment to the Dangerous Drug Act as well as the Pharmacy Act.

The health minister emphasizing the proposed legislation will not allow cannabis for recreational use and it will only be accessible by prescription from a trained, licensed, registered physician.
