GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – The room was filled with small and medium-sized business owners as they gathered for the 2024 Grand Bahama Entrepreneurial Expo in Freeport at the Foster B. Pestina Center Hall. 

Deputy Prime Minister Chester Cooper assured residents that the government sees lots of opportunities in Grand Bahama.

The DPM also revealing out of the 9.65 million record-breaking tourism numbers for 2023, government recognized that Grand Bahama is the fastest-growing destination in The Bahamas for air arrivals.

He also told the group to take advantage of the growth that is to come on that northern island and says now is the time to begin planning and seek funding.

Minister for Grand Bahama Ginger Moxey also addressed the entrepreneurs. Moxey says the government is working on several other initiatives to assist business owners.

She noted that through collab and the empower Grand Bahama micro-grant program alone some 130 grants were awarded to those in the orange economy last year.
