NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Agricultural Development Organization and the Church Commercial Farming Group, partnering to distribute backyard farming kits to high school students and the wider community.

The Bahamas continues to grapple with food security, importing some 90 percent of our food at a cost of an estimated $1 billion. Minister of Marine Resources and Agriculture, Clay Sweeting, joining the Agricultural Development Organization and the Church Commercial Farming Group as they gave 25 kits to students and 70 to the wider public.

Chairman of the Church Commercial Farming Group, Rev. Dr. Patrick Paul noting that this initiative is an effort between the various churches and they intend to make their presence felt even stronger in the community.
