GUYANA – At least 20 children were killed in Guyana, as authorities say an early morning fire swept through a dormitory.

NASSAU, BAHAMAS – At least 20 children were killed and several others injured in Guyana, as authorities say an early morning fire swept through a dormitory at the Mahdia Secondary School on Monday, about 100 miles south-west of Georgetown early Monday morning.

According to a government statement, five planes have already taken off to support regional health officials with additional medical supplies and medevacs with some seven children prepared for medevac to Georgetown.

President Irfaan Ali calling it horrific and says officials are concentrating now on the children that survived.
