H.Y.P.E. Dance Competition

FREEPORT, GRAND BAHAMA – The Bahamas Dance Theater Philanthropic Arm, known as “H.Y.P.E.” Helping Young People Excell, hosts its first dance competition this weekend.

Collette Parker says that for 10 years, the group has been involved in the community through various initiatives and now they wanted to present a platform for dancers ages 5 – 20 to showcase their talents.

 



Pulse Dance Group out of New Providence travelling to the second city for the event.

Parker says she hopes that the competition can continue to provide economic opportunities for even more Family Islands.

Pulse Choreographer, Ricardo Christie says he is very excited to prepare the group for the friendly rivalry.

He says he hopes both groups can continue to shine a light on the arts in the country.
