NASSAU, BAHAMAS – December 1st is World AIDS Day and Health and Wellness Minister Dr. Michael Darville says newly reported HIV cases diagnosed in the country have decreased by 63 percent between 2012 and 2022.

Now, the ministry plans to take testing to the next level.

Oraquick will be available as a free option at public clinics and testing events, but will also be available for purchase at pharmacies for under $20.

While the at-home test requires a confirmatory test if it comes back positive, Dr. Forbes says it could be the key to closing the gap in people unaware of their status.
