PARADISE ISLAND, BAHAMAS – Looking at my author page, you probably can’t tell this, but I’m a basketball guy. I’ve watched so much basketball that I play games with myself when I’m watching. One of my favorite games is “spot the pro”, where I watch college games and try to determine who will end up becoming household names in the NBA.

Then I transition to the annoying watercooler guy at work who says “I saw Donovan Mitchell at Atlantis, I KNEW he was gonna be a star”. I didn’t but it’s fun pretending. You can be that guy too.

Here are some players from the men’s and women’s tournaments you may want to pretend you discovered in the future:

Gradey Dick – Kansas

This 6’8” sweet-shooting wing is rapidly climbing draft boards, a quality showing in B4A could catapult him to the top of the lottery.

Rikea Jackson – Tennessee

The 6’2” Senior transfer is leading the Lady Vols in scoring and rebounding while shooting 40% from 3. Look for her to dominate inside and out this week.

This 6’4” scoring guard is a projected lottery pick and climbing. He’ll get buckets all tournament long.

Jordan Horston – Tennessee

One of the best guards in the country, Horston can create a shot from anywhere on the court. Although she’s missed time due to injury, she’ll try to jumpstart her season at Atlantis.

Drew Peterson – USC

Drew Peterson, USC

A 5th-year senior in a world that loves one-and-done, freshmen, this 6’9” wing has footwork, athleticism, size and shooting that will land him in the NBA anyway.

Taylor Jones – Texas

This 6’4” junior forward leads the Horns in scoring and rebounding. Watch her dominate the paint on defense and score inside at-will all tournament long.

Jalen Wilson – Kansas

Jalen Wilson, Kansas

Jalen Wilson is a big-bodied 6’7” tweener forward who loves to catapult himself to the rim. Look for him to attack the paint with great ferocity.
