RUSSIA – An arrest warrant has been issued for Russian President Vladimir Putin by the International Criminal Court in The Hague.

The warrant accuses him of being responsible for war crimes in Ukraine, including the unlawful deportation of children.

Russia has repeatedly denied that its forces have committed atrocities in Ukraine.

Putin’s spokesman says Russia does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICC and describes its decision as “Outrageous and unacceptable”.

Russia earlier threatened to destroy any fighter jets given to Ukraine by its allies after two countries promised planes.
