NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Immigration consultant Louby Georges gave his take on the unrest and escalating violence in Haiti.

Georges says that although the island nation has been known for its consistent state of emergencies and crisis over the decades, he believes what is happening today, is unprecedented.

Following an emergency summit in Jamaica to restore law and order, there are plans to establish a presidential council however, Georges contends, that based on his knowledge, not many on the ground are in favor of preliminary proposals by CARICOM.

And the source of the havoc on the island, according to Georges, is also not on board with those articles.

But how would that then affect the Bahamian defense forces officers who have committed to be deployed to Haiti?

Georges says a potential solution relies on a compromise.
