NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Immigration Minister Alfred Sears is the second Cabinet Minister to comment on the United Nations’ report. Just yesterday, National Security Minister Wayne Munroe ripped into the report citing several inaccuracies.

While the report did point out some weaknesses in the system, it recognizes and commends new legislative and regulatory initiatives. One of the areas under the microscope ?Immigration.
The report also called for interpreters at detention facilities, something Sears says is already in place.
The immigration minister says more attention will also be placed on asylum requests.
