NASSAU, BAHAMAS – It’s an opportunity for a second chance for incarcerated mothers as the Grow Your Child program officially launched Thursday at the Female Unit at the Department of Correctional Services.

It’s a promise kept by Acting Commissioner of Correctional Services Doan Cleare to reunify families.

National Security Minister Wayne Munroe tells us the program will eventually be expanded.

Katriona Gilbert has been a resident at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services since 2015.

The mother of two and grandmother of one says the program means a chance for the residents to strengthen bonds.
