NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Royal Bahamas Police Force issued a warning to parents to pay closer attention to their children this summer, citing that there is a noticeable increase in unlawful sexual intercourse cases during this time.

Inspector Donna Barr of the Sexual Offenses Unit, providing tips to parents.

The tips come after a nine-year-old girl was sexually assaulted after she was taken by a man while playing with friends on Saturday outside her Lazaretto road home.

Assistant Superintendent of Police Altida Bowles says it is also important for parents to pay closer attention to their child’s social media.
