NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The annual Girls in ICT Day event was held at Atlantis Resort’s Club Crush area on Thursday, and girls from schools across the island gathered to meet women in tech and vendors with opportunities.

Panelist and Cybersecurity Executive, Sametria McKinney, reminds girls to keep an open mind, as they might find themselves not only the first woman in a role, but also the first Bahamian.
The cyber security executive warns against the pressures of perfectionism for girls interested in entering the field.
She’s urging them to be as informed as possible, but to be open to being lifelong learners.
