NASSAU, BAHAMAS – “It’s about to come to a boiling point,” according to Central and South Abaco Member of Parliament John Pinder, describing unregulated communities on Abaco.

Pinder tells Our News the multiagency task force founded to examine the state of shanty towns in the country is still at work, and was not able to provide many details.

He, however, expressed optimism that the Davis-Cooper administration will take action on the issue.

Pinder says unregulated or shanty town communities are operating without sanitary infrastructure and proper permitting. That, he says, is something Bahamians and fellow Abaconians cannot do.
