NASSAU, BAHAMAS – For some, summer means family fun and making memories, however for many residents, daily inconvenience and hot nights, maybe their reality.

Works Minister Alfred Sears announced this week the possibility of load shedding as the current generation at BPL may not be able to handle the load which increases during the summer months.

Sears revealed that the demand in new providence has never exceeded 260 megawatts but could possibly get up to 273 megawatts.

Some residents also believe solar energy is the answer.
