JJ and The Liberty Coast To Easy Win Against The Sky

NEW YORK, U.S.A. – It was “slight work” for the New York Liberty last night as they coasted to an easy 85-66 win against the Chicago Sky.

The 6’6″ center from Grand Bahama only had to play 19 minutes to get the job done, scoring 11 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in the process.

Her backup Han Xu had the chance to shine in this one, leading the team with a career-high 19 points. She also had 5 rebounds and 2 blocks.

The game went the Liberty’s way from the beginning, with the team taking an early 3-point lead at the end of the first quarter.

They built on that, completing the 2nd quarter up 12, and they never looked back the rest of the way.

The Liberty are currently sitting in 6th place with a 24-16 record in the West and the top 8 teams get in the playoffs.

Soccer

The Bahamas Football Association has announced that the men’s squad is headed to St. Croix, USVI to play a slate of CONCACAF nations matches.

Playing in league C, pool C, team 242 will play Sint Maarten on September 23rd and the host territory on the 29th.

They’ll flip things around and play the USVI on October 4th and Sint Maarten again on the 6th.

League c is the lowest league in the CONCACAF hierarchy. If The Bahamas wants a shot at promotion, our guys need to lock in and get a couple of wins over some regional competition.
