JJ and the Liberty Fall to the Lynx

UNITED STATES – JJ and the Liberty fell 90-85 to the Minnesota Lynx on Saturday night.

JJ had 15 points on 5-of-11 shooting, along with 12 rebounds and two assists, while Sabrina Ionescu led the Liberty with 25 points.

New York trailed 42-32 at the half and stormed back to take a one-point lead after the third quarter, but the Lynx pulled away in the fourth behind Kayla McBride’s 25 points and Olivia Miles’ 23 to secure the win.

Baseball

Jazz Chisholm Jr. had a rough night, going 0-for-4 with three strikeouts, but it didn’t matter as his New York Yankees defeated the Washington Nationals 4-2.

Paul Goldschmidt, Ryan McMahon and Trent Grisham all homered for the Yankees.

Coach Antoan Richardson and his Atlanta Braves fell 4-1 to the St. Louis Cardinals.

Mauricio Dubón scored the Braves’ only run on a solo home run in the seventh inning.

Down in the minors, Kristian Robinson went 0-for-3, but drew a walk and scored a run to help the Reno Aces defeat the Round Rock Express 8-2.
