JJ and the Liberty Stage Comeback to Take Down the Fever

UNITED STATES – JJ and the Liberty dug deep to pull out an 83-75 win over the Indiana Fever last night for their fourth straight victory. JJ only scored 8 points on 2-6 shooting, but she came up big with a couple of clutch buckets in the 4th quarter, and also controlled the boards with 12 rebounds.

JJ only scored 8 points on 2-6 shooting, but she came up big with a couple of clutch buckets in the 4th quarter, and also controlled the boards with 12 rebounds.

Breanna Stewart had the hot hand for the Liberty, scoring 30 points and grabbing 8 rebounds.

The Liberty was down by as many as 12 in the third quarter, and they were down 5 going into the 4th, but they put their championship experience to work, chipping away at the lead until JJ hit a pair of free throws with 4:28 left in the fourth to put the team up.

They never looked back after that.

Jazz and the Yankees Delayed, Richardson’s Braves Go Wild on the Bases

Jazz and the Yankees’ heavily anticipated matchup against the Red Sox was postponed because of the weather. They’ll make it up during a doubleheader on August 29th.

Then, Coach Antoan Richardson and the Atlanta Braves beat the Pittsburgh Pirates 6-3 for the second straight day.

The guys are getting with Coach Richardson’s base running program, going bonkers on the base paths, swiping 5 bags without getting caught. However the best part is that big first base man, Matt Olson, stole two of them.

DH Dominic Smith also hit a home run.

Bahamas Splits Round Robin Matches

The Bahamas split the day in their first matchup of the night, taking down Colombia 13-3.

Aruba took down Ecuador 5-4, and then Venezuela took out their neighbor Curacao 9-7.
