JJ Drops Double-Double in Her Return

UNITED STATES – The Liberty were back like they never left, taking down the Lynx 93-81 last night in the twin cities.

JJ has been a double-double machine all year, and last night was no exception.

She scored 18 points on 8/17 shooting while grabbing 10 rebounds, and blocking two shots.

JJ also scored her 2000th point for the Liberty, moving her to 9th place all-time.

Breanna Stewart had a double-double as well, dropping 24 and 10.

Meanwhile, Sabrina Ionescu had 15 points and 6 assists.

Rookie sensation Olivia Miles had 20 points and assists to lead the Lynx.

The Lynx actually went up 69-67 with 8:18 left in the game, but they wouldn’t lead the game because Liberty went on a 23-12 run to put them away.

The win was the 8th of the Liberty’s last 11.

With the win, the Liberty moves up to 6th place in the WNBA standings, placing them firmly in the playoff picture.

Walcott’s Season Ends, Richardson and the Braves Clinch

Texas Rangers prospect Sebastian Walcott’s outstanding season came to an end last night as his double-A Frisco Roughriders lost 7-8 to the Amarillo Sod Poodles, ending their playoff series.

Walcott went down doing what he always does, hitting the ball really hard.

The 6’4″ shortstop from New Providence went 2-5 with two singles, two stolen bases, and a run scored.

Walcott’s season was shortened by UCL injury in his right arm, which caused him to miss a large early stretch.

When he came back however, he showed why he was considered the top prospect in the Texas Rangers organization, despite being one of the youngest players in double-A.

He put up otherworldly numbers, hitting 10 home runs and stealing 12 bases in only 48 games while hitting .329 with a 1.012 OPS.

He’ll come into next year looking to make the roster with the big team in the metroplex.

Up in the majors, Coach Antoan Richardson and his Atlanta Braves will play some fall ball.

The Braves took down the Houston Astros 6-2 to clinch a playoff spot.

It was a power surge in H-Town as Matt Olson hit his 40th home run of the year while Ronald Acuna and Michael Harris went yard as well.

The win means that the Braves, at the very least, will have a wild card slot.
