NEW YORK, U.S.A. – The New York Liberty welcomed back a key piece of their championship puzzle as Jonquel Jones returned to the lineup after a two-game absence due to a sprained right ankle. 

The reigning WNBA Finals MVP had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds in the Liberty’s thrilling 86-81 comeback win over the Atlanta Sream at Barclays Center on Tuesday night.

Jones led a 17-point comeback including a game tying three late in the fourth quarter that sparked a 10-2 run. 

They won’t play in the Commissioner’s Cup Final, but the ultimate goal is still to win the last game of the season.

Like most draft pundits, Drew has firmly placed his former freshman standout in the 3–5 range of the 2025 NBA Draft, calling him “the safest pick in the NBA Draft” thanks to his “studied, balanced skill set” that gives him true lottery upside.

A guest on the Philadelphia 76ers podcast Drew said Edgecombe’s standout season proved that he’s ready to have an impact right away.

Baseball

In Indy League baseball news–first-year Lake Country Dockhounds standout Daunte Stuart is putting together a stellar rookie campaign and already drawing serious rookie of the year buzz.

In his first season as a AAPB, Stuart has quickly emerged as one of the most productive players in the league.

Through 38 games, stuart is hitting an impressive .329 at the plate, with seven home runs, 22 runs batted in, and eight stolen bases–all while playing steady defense up the middle at second base and shortstop.

The former college star has already delivered several clutch performances, including a game-winning triple against the railcats and a three-hit effort in a comeback win over Fargo-Moorhead.
