GRAND BAHAMA, BAHAMAS – Even as she continues to recover from offseason ankle surgery, WNBA superstar Jonquel Jones is back home and giving back. Jones returns to Grand Bahama this week to host the Jonquel Jones Basketball Skills Camp at Eight Mile Rock High School.

The camp, set for Thursday, will feature two sessions:

  • Primary & Middle School Girls: 3:30–5:30 PM
  • High School Girls: 5:30–7:30 PM

WNBA coaches will also be in attendance.

Jones,  a former WNBA MVP, Finals MVP, and five-time All-Star, remains one of the league’s most dominant players on both ends of the floor. Despite her recent ankle surgery in October, she has stayed active in rehab and community work, using her platform to inspire young athletes at home and internationally.

TEAM BAHAMAS FALLS IN CBC OPENER

Team Bahamas had a tough start to the Caribbean Basketball Confederation Championships in Guyana.

Top performers:

  • Valerie Nesbitt: 35 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists
  • Lashann Higgs: 21 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists

The Bahamas trailed by seven after the first quarter and eight at the half, but Guyana pulled away in the second half, outscoring Team Bahamas by 19.
The CBC tournament features five teams, with three spots available for next year’s Centrobasket Championships.
