UNITED STATES – Jonquel Jones and the New York Liberty fell 85-83 to the Atlanta Dream last night, losing Game Three of their semifinal series and bringing an end to a turbulent season.

Jones did everything she could to win, scoring 26 points, grabbing 14 rebounds and blocking three shots.

Breanna Stewart added 26 points and six assists, while Sabrina Ionescu was the only other Liberty player to score in double digits, finishing with 12 points.

Angel Reese led the Dream with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

The game came down to the final minute, when Jones scored a layup to bring the Liberty within two points, but New York could not complete the comeback.

The Liberty entered the season with high hopes after returning key players from a team that won a championship just two years ago. Instead, they endured an uneven campaign, finishing 26-18, earning the eighth seed and falling in the semifinals.

Regatta

The regatta got underway today in Clarence Town Harbour, featuring races in the C and E classes, the smallest and lightest boat divisions.

More seasoned regatta fans may be wondering where the A and B classes are. Those boats could not compete because Clarence Town Harbour is too shallow to accommodate them.

Fifteen boats across the two divisions took to the water for a series of races to determine the fastest competitors.

Unofficial results so far have Lady Annamarie taking first place in Group E, followed by Seven Dees in second and Ma Doreen in third.

As with every regatta, the sailing is only part of the fun. A concert featuring a lineup of Bahamian performers is scheduled each night after the boats come off the water.
