NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A magistrate has ordered 28-year-old father who slapped his eight-year-old daughter for being rude to attend parenting classes.

The father pleaded guilty to cruelty to children when he appeared before Assistant Chief Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.

The charge stems from an incident that took place on April 20 while the child was spending the weekend with her father and paternal grandmother.

The Court heard that the child had ignored multiple requests by her dad to pick up her toys.

When he confronted her about disobedience, the child rolled her eyes, prompting her dad to slap her.
