NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A police superintendent accused of raping a woman remains behind bars as a judge considers his bail application.

Prosecutors say Kyle Capron raped a 25-year-old woman in a police car on a October 23.

Capron was formally charged on October 28 and denied bail.

Prosecutor Tshura Ambrose asked Justice Neil Brathwaite to keep Capron in custody over concerns that he would interfere with his accuser.

Capron’s lawyer Bjorn Ferguson argued that the court could impose conditions to allay those concerns.

Justice Neil Brathwaite has reserved his decision.
