NASSAU, BAHAMAS – A Supreme Court jury has acquitted a 29-year-old man of murder and attempted murder charges.

Prosecutors alleged that Lorenzo Wilson, otherwise known as Cheddar, shot and killed Deano Gordon and attempted to murder Superintendent Warren Johnson on April 7, 2020.

The charges stem from a daytime shooting at Hampton Street.

Gordon was at a mechanic shop around 1pm when three armed men pulled up in a black car and opened fire.

Superintendent Johnson, who was in the area, ran towards the gunfire and shot at the gunmen.

They fired back and as the car was leaving, Johnson said he recognized the gunman in the right back seat as Wilson.

According to other witnesses, all of the gunmen were masked, and they were unable to identify them
