NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Gracie’s Corner, Cocomelon, Ms. Rachel, Ms. Monica and many more are kids programs that has captured the attention of kids and parents across the globe.

With reinventing classic nursey rhymes to head bobbing beats, one parent noticed that there was a lack of the sounds of the goat skin drum and decided to do something about it.

Founder and Creator of Boomkanoo Jace Mckinney  says, “Boomkanoo it really is this idea about energy of excitement of education or edutainment and the Kanoo is basically a sense of moving forward so it kind of spawns off of the idea of Junkanoo which is from The Bahamas where we are and where I’m from”

The idea for the show was birthed in 2021 as McKinney watched popular shows his children were tuned in to.

He says it was in that moment he recognized that although there was a variety of educational content available, there was a lack of representation for authentic Caribbean culture.

Boomkanoo’s Youtube channel officially launched in 2023 and McKinney says the public’s reaction is already proving why representation matters.

Something he says was a goal of his and his team at windwave studios.

Episodes are available on Youtube just search Boomkanoo.
