Ayton Misses The Game With A Sprained Ankle

SAN FRANCISCO, USA – A bum ankle derailed what would have been a matchup of two Bahamians in the NBA as the Phoenix Suns beat the Golden State Warriors 125-113.

Bahamian Klay Thompson led the Warriors in scoring with 29 points while grabbing 5 rebounds. Stephen Curry, making his return from injury added 24 points while Jordan Poole added 27 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists off the bench.

Nassau-native Deandre Ayton missed this game with the ankle injury, but the Suns didn’t miss him as Dario Saric scored 19 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 7 assists subbing in for him.

The win snaps a 6-game losing streak for the Suns who are in the midst of a cold streak, winning 2 of their last 11 games. Mikal Bridges led the suns with 29 points while adding 9 rebounds and 6 assists.

Ayton’s ankle has bothered him since November, however NBA players fighting through nagging injuries isn’t uncommon. The Suns haven’t set a timetable for his return yet.
