NASSAU, BAHAMAS – Forty-one female inmates at the Department of Corrections now have access to a library and resource center at the Fox Hill facility and officials and inmates are touting it as a game changer.

A dream come true is how the wife of the Governor-General, and Parton, Lady Clara Smith is describing the opening of the first female inmate library and resource center named in her honour.

Lady Clara, who was there for the official opening, says she hopes the library helps inmates gain the skills necessary to make a positive contribution to society.

Inmates, Ernesta Butler and Shaneka Gibbs say they are grateful to finally have a library on property.
