NEW YORK – Sean “Diddy” Combs reportedly got a standing ovation from fellow inmates after being acquitted on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, a moment his lawyer says gave hope to other incarcerated black men.

Combs was convicted on two prostitution-related counts and remains jailed in Brooklyn, facing up to 20 years.

But attorney Marc Agnifilo told the Associated Press the jury’s decision proved “someone can beat the government.”

The defense leaned into Combs’ faults, portraying him as a violent, jealous partner but not a sex trafficker.

Combs now awaits sentencing, with his lawyer saying he’s focused on confronting his personal demons and beginning a path to accountability.
